Vintage Japanese silk satin jacquard embroidered and woven tapestry Fukuro (2/3 pattern sides) obi. This beautiful obi is jet black with a jacquard background pattern of fans with a embroidered and woven cascading fan and book pattern. T is gold, orange, white, light blue, golden yellow and lime green. The fans are woven in textures of gold and embroidered with mums, cherry blossoms, peonies adn goemetrics. This obi is in MINT condition. It is only 10 inches wide (usual width is 12 inches) probably for a young girl, though the length is the classic 13 feet long. The 1/3 back is solid jet black silk satin with a geometric wavey block pattern, different from the jacquard pattern on the front 2/3 of the obi. The authentic Japanese silk obi make dramatic wall hangings, wonderful table runners, pillows, purses, or if you like, cut them for formal placemats, as they are stiffly lined.
