It is in EXCELLENT CONDITION . The doll features a man about to release a sparrow. It has the original Urasaki label and cleaning instructions on the bottom. It has the original paper work. It is ITEM # U-155 FREEING A SPARROW (Based on a Japanese nursery story): An old man setting free a sparrow whose tongue has been cut by his spiteful wife. His kindness brings him much treasure in the future. Hakata dolls are made with clays found in Fukota City. The style was created in the early 17th century by Soshichi Masaki (a roof tile craftsman). This figurine is indicative of the older Hakata representing people at their trades and every day life. The expression on this kind old man is very realistic. This is painted with fine detail. The colors are very rich and vivid. T is absolutely no damage at all to this doll. The doll is measures about 8 1/2" tall. The base is about 5 1/2" x 6 1/2" wide. The bamboo mat measures 9" x 12 1/2" Don't miss your chance to own the exquisite piece.
