You are bidding on a ladies victorian JAPANESE FAN from a five generation Kentucky estate.
This fan measures seventeen and a half inches full open and nine and one quarter inches tall. It has been kept in its original highly decorated and painted box for the last hundred years or so and is in remarkable condition!!!!. One of the spines has come loose from the material and there is also a small amount of material loss on the top of fan itself, very small. The silk embroidery work on this fan is astounding to say the least. It shows excellent craftsmanship and an unbelievable amount of detail in the work itself. The handles are intricately carved and in beautiful aged condition. The beadwork on this piece is wonderful as are the two tassels that also look to be hand done. The box is 11 1/4 long and 2 1/4.It actually has a painting inside of the lid on extremely thin paper that is coming away from the wood sadly and some of it is missing. Please see the detailed pictures as they are part of the item description. The lacquered box is signed both inside and on the end as well,I do not speak Japanese nor do I read it so if anyone would care to help me out here I would greatly appreciate it. INTERNATIONAL BIDDERS NOTE: The auction price does NOT include customs duties in your country. The final auction price will be the only price declared-no exceptions.Custom duties and tariffs and taxes in your country are your responsibility.I will not mark any item as GIFT,this is against the law. NO RESERVE....!!!!
