DESCRIPTION: is a lovely necklace made by a very prolific and talented Taxco jeweler. You see their stamp often on pieces from 1950 to the 1980's. JS is mentioned in Bille Hougart's book of Mexican silver hallmarks. The stamp on this is 'JS' in script 'Mexico 925 TS-22', as found on page 220 of Hougart's book of Mexican Silver Hallmarks. He was one of the first to register when they changed to the new method in 1979. This was probably made in the early 1980's.
DIMENSIONS: The sterling beads appear to be handmade, are thick and are over 3/8 inches wide, while the cobalt blue beads are 5/16 inch wide. It is a wearable 19 inches and weighs 58 grams. It's very well made and has a thick wide tongue in box clasp. A wonderful and very wearable piece by an important Mexican jeweler. CONDITION: It's in excellent vintage condition - the sterling beads do have tarnish which the new owner may choose to polish off or not. SHIPPING: $3.75 first class or $5.50 priority with deliver confirmation. Payment is duewithin 5 days. You may pay by Paypal, check or postal money order.Please contact me within that period. Please pay close attention to dimensions, as photographs will not give you a good idea of scale - they are generally bigger to allow detail to show, or smaller due to lack of space.
