This auction is for a nice porcelain Owl by the Karl Ens factory in the former East Germany. The base shows a number of marks including the mold #5647 with a "4" underneath that. It also is stamped ENS in green (according to Kovel's dictionary of Marks the stamp was used between 1919-1972). To the right of the stamp t is a word/name written out which I can't make out. Further around on the inside base is a "Ms." mark. I have tried to provide photos on all of the above. This owl stands 11 1/2" tall X 5" wide and is perched on a large book (Wise Old Owl, perhaps). Only condition problem is a factory stress mark which is close to the base. I believe this was created when the piece was fired. It does not go all the way through the figurine and cannot be seen on the inside of the base (see photo). Please check my current auctions for more Elegant, Carnival and Collectible glass.
