Up for auction is this completely original unused Kelsey Mercury Model U table top platen printing press. This press was recently found at a local estate and comes in excellent unused (according to family) condition. All the casting is perfect with no damage. The paint is excellent with only a minor knick in it here and there. The only thing I have done is wipe years of dust off of it. The original owner's family told the auctioneer that it was purchased years ago and was never used. The original rollers for it are still in the box. I am not a printer so I am not sure if they are still useable but they look to be in good condition. Also included is the hand roller with its roller in the original box, lots of blocking for the type print, an extra tray to hold the typeset in the printer and 8 tubes of Kelsey ink. Only two of the boxes of ink have been opened. The rest still are completely sealed. The colors include 2 tubes of Many Purpose Blue, Yellow, 2 tubes of Deep Red, Mixing White, Dull Emb. Compound and Bond Black. I also have a large amount of typeset that was with it that will be offered in a SEPARATE listing. I don't know much about this other than what I have been told. The press weighs about 65 pounds. The overall dimensions are 23" deep X 18" high X 12" wide. The press will have to be shipped separate from the supplies to prevent damage.
