Kilroy The Cop - Pelham-like Talentoy Effanbee puppet 1940s Does this look like a Pelham or Wonky toy puppet? Daniel E. Hodges in Marionettes and String Puppets Collector's Reference Guide speculates that Talent Products may have purchased unfinished puppets from Pelham Puppets and finished them in the United States. There were five Talentoy puppets distributed by Effanbee: Jambo the Jiver, MacAwful the Scot, Kilroy the Cop, Toonga from the Congo and Pim-Bo the Clown. The puppets were nicely presented, placed diagonally in a substantial box with a lid. The size of the box was determined by the 78rpm record with the theme tune for the puppet. Kilroy no longer has his record. The instructions are missing but the words of the song are listed. Look out for the other Talentoys I am selling.
