VINTAGE KIMONO JACKET / “HOARI” This gorgeous vintage silk lined Hoari (short coat) was purchased at auction from “Texuba Vintage Kimonos” in 1997 (Texuba ceased operation in 2007). Anyone familiar with this company and their reputation will recognize the quality of this piece. A Hoari is meant to be worn over the kimono to keep it clean or dry in wet weather. It has tomesode (short) pocket sleeves and the tamoto (under arm) is open. It is a lovely flower and autumn leaf pattern in a brocade or tapestry weave. It measures 48” across the shoulder span making it a U.S. ladies size 6, 7 or 8. This piece is in excellent condition for the collector or just to enjoy wearing
