Kitchen-Klatter all began in or around 1926 when a young woman named Leanna Field Driftmier took over a daily broadcast from her sister known as "The Mother's Hour." After taking over where her sister left off she renamed the broadcast Kitchen-Klatter. Its popularity continued to grow resulting in Driftmier publishing a newsletter that was eventually renamed Kitchen-Klatter Magazine. The magazine included local stories of interest as well as lots of recipes, gardening tips, entertainment ideas, health tips, poems, photos and sometimes book suggestions.
