For bid is an Art Deco styled chrome Model 29-901 Two Slice Electric Knapp Monarch Toaster. The patent number is 1,756,784 - 2,029,575 which means the toaster was made between the early 1930's to 1940. Made by Knapp Monarch Company in St. Louis, MO. It sure does have an interesting look to it - curved sides and ends with sweeping concentric lines plus the cute brown bakelite handles on each end. Classic deco lines and great deco colors in chrome and brown bakelite. Comes with an old two-pronged chord with the spring that is in remarkably good shape. Both sides heat up and toast. Chrome is shiny - it sure is hard to photograph these chrome items as t is always a reflection from somew in the room - I was wearing work clothes when I took these photos.
