VINTAGE KNIGHT'S TEMPLAR/SIR KNIGHT UNIFORM CHAPEAU WELCOME This auction is brought to you by the Huntington Knights Templar- York Rite Commandery # 35. This is a fundraising event for our local commandery to raise money to purchase new up to date uniforms. Whether affiliated with our organization or not, please lend us a hand in our venture to bring our commandery into the 21 st century. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ We proudly present this genuine piece of Masonic history. we have an early 1900's Vintage Sir Knight's ceremonial, Knight's Templar complete black 100% wool coat and accessories. This auction includes coat, pants, chapeau, baldric, sword belt. The coat was hand made to individual measurements by military tailors, interlined and fully lined with durable lustrous lining. It has a short stand up collar with a single row of 11 buttons down front, fabric covered buttons are deteriorating (shown in photos). The back has 4 button tails, and the waist has the metal hook for sword belt, overall good condition with light normal use vintage wear-includes silver bullion cross on both sleeve cuffs. T is no hem, the bottom is just cut which was customary at the time, ha a quilted upper chest lining. Has a hook at neck and the neck is lined with a band of white fabric. This coat does not include the shoulder straps. Tag inside jacket has since come out, but is believed to be from the Pettibone Brothers Mfg. Co. Made to order Uniform Tailors, 628 Sycamore St. Cincinnati Ohio . Approx. measurements of this coat are: 36" back length, 18" across back at shoulders, 38"chest (around pit area), 24" sleeve length, waist 40". The pants are all wool, button down front, and suspender buttons, measure approx. 36" waist x 28" inseam, in good condition. The chapeau is general regulation it has the silk velvet ribbon edges with the cross of silver bullion in the middle, chapeau has the white over black feather plume (shown in as found condition). The front and edges show wear from removal, inside is lined with silk and bares the Pettibone name, size 7 marked inside. This standard baldric is centered with white silk, edges of black silk velvet ribbon, the junction seam of the white silk and black velvet is covered with silver plated wire lace, star with nine points, raised cross inlaid with red velvet, is silver plated and burnished, with silver plated cross at the intersection with concealed fastener for the sword. The reverse side, covered with green satin, with a cross of red satin ribbon, the intersection of the four arms mitered. However, over the years these fabrics have deteriorated, the white silks are in fair condition. Measures approximately 72" long x 4"W The sword b elt is black grain leather, interlined, faced with silver wire and black silk lace, all metal parts are silver plated and burnished. Measures approx. 37" long x 1 3/4" wide, with buckle. Straps are 1-20"L, 2-8"L each, includes a silver plated belt buckle, in good vintage condition. Reads: IN HOC SIGNO VINCES. Has red hard enamel cross in the middle-needs cleaned and polished. Measures approx. 2" L x 3"T All items come to you in as found condition.
