Up for auction is this early 20th century fraternal KNIGHTS OF COLUMBUS sword with sheath ('twas my grandfather's who died before I was born) AND a red and blue trimmed canvas carrying case (crafted by my late grandmother). The pommel is Christopher Columbus' head; The grip is wood painted black. The sword blade has unsharpened edges, but the point is sharp. Knights of Columbus is beautifully etched on the front of the blade, with equally lovely etching on the reverse side. The sword and sheath are in remarkably good condition considering their age, with some scattered areas of pitting. They would show beautifully with some polishing, the benefit of which I will leave to the new owner if desired. Dimensions : Overall length: 36" Blade length: 28 1/8" Handle length: 3 1/2" Blade width: 3/4" This ceremonial sword set is a prized and historic collectible that could be an important addition to your collection! Please email me with any questions. GOOD LUCK AND THANKS FOR LOOKING
