All of the items shown and listed for sale belonged to the same man; Frank E. Rue, who belonged to a San Antonio, Texas lodge. We do not know the exact age of these items but, we do know that Frank E. Rue was born in 1869 and died in 1941. The leather scabbard has approx 5" on the upper portion that needs to be restiched. The sash is white silk trimmed in black velvet. The buckle says In Hoc Signo Vinces or "With this sign shalt thou Conquer". On the green reverse of the sash is the name of F.E. Rue. Also on the reverse the clasp is marked Henderson Ames Co. The sword/sheath lenght is 36 1/2". Blade of the sword is 26 1/2". Total length of the sword is 34 1/2" T is some discoloration on the sword blade and some pitting on the tip that I have not attempted to remove. The handle of the sword as well as all of the emblems on the belt have the Texas name and star logo. The handle of the sword is ivory or bone (I don't know how to tell the difference). The blade of the sword is fully etched and gold enhanced w his name appears. It is a silver plated sword and bears one red enameled cross. The sheath has two red enameled crosses.
