Offered is this complete Theo Kochs 1914 barber chair mfgd. in Chicago. It is all original like found in the barber shop. Some of the chrome is in great condition and other is worn as shown in pictures. The porcelain is in very good condition with only a few minor nicks that could be touched up. This chair has not been painted or restored. It has the original leather upholstery which has wear and a tear on the footrest and includes the Theo Kochs brass patent plate of July 7, 1914 on the back. Some of the original chrome or nickle palting is excellent and other lower areas show normal wear from use. This Theo Kochs barber chair was top of the line in it's day with the cast iron/porcelain back rest, porcelain hand crank and fancy headrest with 1909 & 1910 patent dates in photos. Note the unique chrome cannon ball shaped pivot brackets with acorn shaped caps below the curved porcelain over cast iron seat platform. It also has the original brake with porcelain caped handle and will hold steady when applied and it also reclines as shown in photo. Nothing has been done to this chair except wiping off the cobwebs since removing from closed barber shop. See for yourself as this chair has a lot going for it and would look great as is or restored.
