Offered for auction is a charming VINTAGE HAND PAINTED TOLEWARE SMALL OVALTRAY with PINK ROSE and ROSEBUD motif. I found this beauty at a recent estate sale. The painting was pristine and the colors so elegant. I most often see this type of decorative painting on metal trays. This is the first example that I have found on wood. I will do my best to describe the piece. The OVAL tray measures: 10" X 7", with a 1" lip to the perimeter sides. Two cutout figure eight holes, serve as "handles" on each side. It is a very lightweight wood that appears to have been lacquer painted with dark, dark DEEP BROWN base coats, **which almost reads as black. T is a light semi-gloss varnish over the entire tray. Beautiful handpainting in oil paint TOLE WARE fully bloomed PINK ROSE, ROSEBUDS and GREEN LEAFING. I can see each brushstroke of the blended paint colors whan I hold the tray at an angle. It is in EXCELLENT CONDITION and will be a perfect addition to a vintage toleware tray collection, wheteher used atop a table or hung as artwork upon a wall.
