Vintage Lalique 10" Ring of Birds Clear Frosted Bowl Deep-relief frosted or opalescent birds in various poses ring the top 1-1/4" in of this thick 10-inch Lalique Bowl that we date to early in the post -1945 production period, when the Lalique France script signature mark was used. Vertical round topped panels ring the bowl beneath the birds. Shows great!CONDITION: This bowl was used as intended. Shows some signs of wear particularly intense surface scratches on the bottom foot of the bowl from lots of use, including across the signature. It does not obscure the signature. A trip around the rim with a fingernail reveals minute rough spots mostly, but not limited to, the inside edge of the rim. We couldn't see them on unmagnified visual inspection. Some light scratches and haziness on the lower inside sides of the bowl along with miniscule closed air bubbles also visible. The haziness could be hard-water marks if this was used for flowers. We lightly washed it. Under lighted magnification, some wear on the ribs of the panes is visible. T are two light production lines on the inside top edge behind the birds. No chips, cracks or repairs. We attempted to show some of the wear in the photos, but it was difficult to photograph. We are very picky with out descriptions to. help our customers make educated buying decisions. Most buyers say our items are better than described .AGE: This piece was produced sometime after 1945 when the company first used the Lalique France mark. This one is in script facing outward along the bottom outside edge of the foot. Because of the type and location of the wear, we believe this piece was produced in the earlier days of the post Rene Lalique period.
