WOW! What a fabulous item! Standing 18" high to the top of the finial, it looks like a phone of course but is not and never was a working phone. It's a lamp, and it still works just fine. It's a clock, and believe it or not, the clock runs. I haven't kept it plugged in over a period of days, so I can't swear it keeps proper time in the long run, but it does for the short run. The mouthpiece is a cigarette lighter! You'd push the button near the earpiece, and the mouthpiece would heat up and glow like a car lighter. This does not work. Lamp should be rewired anyway, so maybe they could get the lighter to work. The shade is the coolest. The sides are very similar to metal venetian blind slats. They are layered with beaded chain and as you can see, when you take the shade off it's collapsible. The phone itself is very, very heavy, thus the shipping cost. It is marked on the bottom "The Trea - Boye Corp, Brooklyn 7, New York." If you like 50's kitsch or midcentury funky design, you can't do better than this! I'm only an email away so please ask questions before bidding. Thanks for looking and most of all HAVE FUN!! WHAT DO YOUR LOVED ONES COLLECT? IT'S NOT TOO EARLY TO BE THINKING ABOUT HOLIDAY GIFTS!
