This is a large vintage brass school bell. The bell measures approximately 7 inches in diameter by 6 inches high. The hardwood handle is 5 1/2 inches long making a total height of 11 1/2 inches. Back in the early 1960's this bell was given to a friend by her elderly neighbor who had been a school teacher in San Francisco. It has great original patina and looks like it has never been cleaned or polished. All parts are original including the cast iron clapper and screw through wooden handle. There is a minor chip and very minor dent in the rim of the bell as shown in the picture. It weighs about 3 pounds.
