Rare B/O Tramway Repair Truck ME-714 From Red China Description This one you won't find very easily. It is an early chinese battery operated toy dating from the 60's/70's. This appr. 12" (300 mm) long all tin truck was made in China. An unusual subject, this truck moves forward with its toplight on, it makes a cracking sound which is supposed to be a bell sound and then suddenly it stops, raising its platform, which folds out completely. The platform then folds again and the truck moves on, repeating the sequence. The right arm of the co-driver is movable and is supposed to hit the bell when it stops, but being a good idea the execution is rather crude. This is old store stock, with a clean battery box, all box inserts are still there. As usual with chinese tin toys there are some factory paint touch-ups and some production traces. At one side corner of the platform there are some rubbing traces from the platform touching the roof of the truck. Otherwise from the above mentioned factory-inflicted flaws it is in mint boxed condition. The box has age traces on both smaller sides of the box.
