Up for auction is a beautiful vintage Leedy & Ludwig Snare Drum with U.S. made Remo Heads. This snare drum was pawned used in very good condition. The white marine pearl finish has yellowed, but looks beautiful. There is travel wear (scuffs/scratches) but nothing glaring and no damage whatsoever. The hardware appears to be original the 16 lugs are constant with the style of what we found online. The hoops and snare wires however may not be original. We were unable to determine the year of this drum there are no stamps in the inside. There are stress cracks around the screws on the inside, but do not affect the sound. From our research this drum was made between 1951 and 1955. The badge is in good condition. The sound is quite amazing. This drum is highly collectable and in very good condition you will be hard pressed to find another in this condition. Leedy & Ludwig were only around for about four or five years so there are a limited amount of these drums available in this condition and let’s face it they don’t make them like this anymore. This is quality American craftsmanship at its best. All measurements are overall and are including the heads. We did not want to remove the heads so as not to damage them or any of the components of the shells or hardware.
