Vintage Lenks Small Gasoline Blow Torch I have been unable to determine the age of this Blow Torch but I suspect that it is at least 60 years old. Gasoline Blow Torches phased out after the introduction of the propane blow torch. Bernzomatic's web page ( /bernzomatic/consumer/jhtml/aboutUs.jhtml ) indicates that the first propane torches were introduced in the 1950's. The fuel feed adjusting knob is not metal but made from the same material used for the old heavy telephones of the 40's and 50's. Older blow torches have metal knobs like those on a water faucet. Feature description from bottom up: The fill orifice and plug are in very good shape. Threads on both are clean and undamaged. The seal is a bit dry but undamaged. The white cotton wick is present and clean. The bell shaped gasoline reservoir is in good shape buyt shows some slight scratching and tarnish. Most of the brass is bright. The Lenks logo decal is missing but it's impression still remains. You can still make out the circle with the triangle inside as well as the word Gasoline. The red metal handle is in good shape with some tarnish and residue. The drip tray is in very good shape with some slight oxidation. This tray was filled with fuel and lit to warm up the blower's head. This created the pressure in the reservoir, needed to create a blue, roaring flame rather than the typical yellow flame you would see on a cigarette lighter. The adjusting knob is in very good shape. The threads are good and it turns freely. The wire at the end is still t The brass blower nozzle is in very good shape. T is slight tarnish and some fuel residue. Blow Torch measures 5.5 inches in height and 3 inches in diameter at the base.
