With the 'backwards' dial as often found on forestry compasses - Offered is a worn but working compass , this compass offers a number of cool features, including the fold-down front site on the cover, the 'backwards dial' as often found on forestry or cruiser compasses. a quick Google search on 'forestry compass backwards dial' will yield a wealth of info on this system, which, once understood, is efficient and accurate. Other features include a working automatic needle lifter, a raised dial which is adjustable for declination and a superb needle, accurate, sensitive, wire-wrapped on the south end for balance, marked with an arrow for north and possessed of a jeweled pivot for sensitivity and durability. Item specifications: Manufacturer: Dietzgen Made in the U.S.A. Aluminum housing Size: 3" X 3 1/4" does show slight wear, with just a few paint chips, and a small mark on the glass at "0" Deg (might not even be able to see this in the pic. please ask any questions before bidding... as always, I will combine shipping!!
