This is a vintage flint and fluid rather rare Made In Japan cast metal automatic bird lighter. It shows some wear to the plating but is complete and functioning. It is a automatic action in the small block flint wheel assembly. The cast metal bird holds the fluid and wick and sits on a pivot. It normally sits inside the box with the snuffer arm down, when the bird is pushed slightly downward the spring action snuffer arm opens and rotates the sparkwheel lighting the wick in the birds beak, you then pivot the bird back with its beak pointed upward. Strong spring in the liftarm, mechanism functions as it should, the bird has a filler screw w the sun don't shine, the sparker block has the original long flint screw. The base is a black plastic possibly bakelite, no damage to it just some dust as seen in the pics. . ...shipping is $7.95U.S.; approx $12.95 Europe and Japan please check out my other items and lighters and thanks for bidding.
