This is a rare vintage LDBC French Limoges, artist painted and signed wall plate or charger. The LDBC Limoges France on the mark is very hard to find. � There are usually four words on the LDBC torch -- Limoges, LDBC, the name of the decorating company, and France. � The item up for auction has only three words on the torch--Limoges, LDBC and France. � This and the signature of the artist indicate the charger was decorated by LDBC. � LDB & Co decorated very few chargers which makes this item rare. � The charger is approximately 11.5" in diameter and 2" high and features a pheasant in a field with another bird flying above. � The colors on the plate are brown, green, yellow, blue, white, rust and light pink and its trimmed in gold. There is a small chip on the bottom of the charger and there are no cracks or signs of repair. � The plate is painted by the French artist Leonce who was apparently employed by LDBC. � His signature is on the bottom slightly left of center. The back of the charger has four holes drilled into the foot rest with a wire hanger looped through the two top holes for displaying on a wall. � This is a fantastic piece.
