Wow! What a rare find. A tablecloth and 8 napkins from the ocean liner SS United States, where they were used as part of the First Class tea set. Each piece is embroidered in white "US Lines 52", the year the ship made her maiden voyage. They are made of fine Belgian linen, and they have a wonderful feel. The color is a lovely sea green, and the pattern is polka dots. Green polka dots on white on one side, reverses to white polka dots on green. Hemstitched border and mitered corners. Tablecloth measures 52" square and napkins are 13" square. The tablecloth has two very small orange spots on the border, I haven't attempted to remove them. They are very minor. No other stains or holes. This must be seen in person to be appreciated , the pictures can't capture the beauty of this elegant set.
