This large, whimsical and unique man in the moon/woman in the moon lantern was entirely hand made and sculpted out of a highly durable and strong paper mache.The mouth and eyes I actually carved out. I made paper inserts for the eyes and mouth. It has a rustic wire hanger, will look magnificent hanging out from a metal stand or from a rafter..It could be used with a real candle...or even better, a battery operated light. It is double sided, t is a more masculine moon face on one side and a more feminine one on the other! I have added layers upon layers of paper mache and painted acrylic washes to look time worn and vintage. I hope it will bring a smile to someone out t, and really be used and cherished as I have put hours of work into this piece! I have been wanting to do a lantern for a long time, and hope that this one, my first, finds its way to a happy home! It is large and measures 12" high by about 12' wide, the wire hanger adds another 3 inches. It is well crafted, I even dropped it accidentaly during photographing it and it did no damage. T is a strong wind and rain storm brewing tonight as I have been photgraphing and writing this, what a special effect that goes right along with this piece when lit! This piece will really brighten up your Halloween, or even be great out all year! Please feel free to e mail me with any questions. The paper inserts can be removed for a more primitive look.
