Fantastic estate find, this is a large lot of vintage post office box components to make up 50+ complete doors. I am not familiar with these items, but have inventoried and inspected the lot, and will give an opinion of the makeup and intended use. Most logical user would be a craftsman that makes up wooden lockboxes for resale purposes. I am presuming all the components are to put these together, but not sure, so lot will be sold as is. Some of the components were packed in newspapers with dates from the 70's, but I don't know how old all these components are? The actual brass door plates appear to be new and unused, they are about 5"x3.25", with integral hinges, two mounting holes in each hinge. T are two swiveling stops that serve to hold in place the beveled glass vertical door windows. The backer plates that set directly into the combination holes from the back also look new, although t is rust on the back of some of them. The box that encases the locking mechanism is black on the outside, brass on the inside. Logo reads:" The Keyless Lock Co. Indianapolis Ind. U.S.A. Patented". Some of these show some rust on the interior. The combination dials look to be in very nice shape, perhaps unused. I am making up the names of the following components: connecting shafts, washers, latching hardware, door plates, various screws, springs, bolts, set screws. The parts came in plastic tubs; t are two small cans of cotter pins and washers that may have nothing to do with this lot, but included as they came together. So... you have many components to make up some attractive vintage look postal boxes that are so collectible today. I counted all the larger components to make sure t were at least 50 of each part needed; didn't count the screws and bolts, but they look sufficient. Some of these parts will be repacked for more compactness in shipping. I will try to answer any of your questions, just be aware that I have no knowledge of the completeness or lack tof Unpacked shipping weight of this lot is about 30#, and will ship from zip 85254. This is a treasure trove for someone who knows what they're doing with these. Outstanding possibilities.
