For sale is a Vintage Ludwig Chrome over Brass Supraphonic Drum with "B" Stamp above Muffler and Blue/Olive Cut Badge, size 5 1/2" by 14". I believe this drum to be extremely rare as I have not seen any like it in my experiences and comes with all original equipment including Ludwig Script Snare Wires are in excellant condition as is the drum itself. T are no modifications on this drum, no pitting, dents and only minor scratches. The pictures tell the story as to condition. It is a beautiful drum to see and play. The tuning range is wide and produces blistering/popping rim shots. This snare is best described as producing the sound of the late 70's Black Beauty's. If you heard or played one, then no more needs to be said. It will ship with new Remo Ambassador Coated Batter head and Ambassador Hazy Snare side head which have little play time on them. T are a few stories floating around about the 70's Chrome over Brass models that I've discussed with other professional drummers. One is that this snare may be 1 of 100 special order drums made by Ludwig for the LA Pro Drum Shop in Hollywood to fulfill a request by Bob Yeager and the professional drum community who were seeking the Brass Snare sound of the late 50's, early 60's Super 400 brass models that were no longer available.
