~ VINTAGE MAJOLICA ~
Bee & Clover Tea Set
Made in Japan ~ MIJ I am pleased to offer this vintage majolica teapot with matching cream pitcher and covered sugar bowl. Made in Japan, the sweet design is reminiscent of bees buzzing about a beehive nestled in clover, and reminds me of the highly recognizable basket weave shamrock Beleek China pattern.

With a glossy glaze finish, the creamy white background is very textural with its dimpled honeycomb look, and is a beautiful backdrop for the raised clover and bee design.

The three-leaf clovers are done in shades of green with black stems, and the bees in shades of yellow, orange, gold and black. The handles and spouts are cleverly designed as they have the appearance of green wrapped vines. But the crowning touch to this set is the adorable bee finials on the teapot and sugar bowl lids. The ideal size for an individual tea, the diminutive teapot with lid stands approximately 4 ½" high and approximately 7" across when measured from spout to handle. The creamer with is pinched pouring spout measures 2 ½" high by 3 ½" wide. The lidded sugar bowl measures 5" across by 4" high. Each piece is ink marked on the bottom and reads "JAPAN."

In VERY GOOD condition, t are NO nicks, chips, cracks, crazing, stains or repairs. In fact, it does not appear that these pieces have ever been used.
