Marantz 2230 AM/FM stereo receiver excellent. Overall condition : Excellent. Using the Audiogon rating scale, this component scores an 8.75. Missing are the original carton, foam, and operating instructions (minus .5 points). There's a small scratch on the left side of the cover. It's near the bottom and at the rear of the side panel. It's not very noticeable. I believe a minute amount of brown paste shoe polish would cover it nicely. Minus .25 points. The top of the case, right rear corner, has a very modest indentation that would probably escape the eye of most individuals. It's hard to see but evident if you run your hand over that area. Minus .25 points. There's a small nick on the top left edge of the face. You should be able to see in in picture #2. Minus .25 points. Overview : This is an exceptional receiver cosmetically, operationally, and sonically. The inside is clean and everything works as it should including the lights, signal strength meter, and the controls (all are quiet - no static or extraneous noise). Replacing the paper behind the dial would fully restore the blue glow to the lights but I don't count that as a flaw. Much is said about the 2230 Marantz receivers concerning their sonic excellence.
