This OBSOLETE U.S. Marshal badge is a known badge and this exact badge can be found on page 95 photograph 356 in the book badges of the U.S. Marshals by Ray Sherard. There is a scrape on the front of this badge as you can see in photos. The Marshal service later required that each Marshal shall have identical badges that all look the same. This is a personal named Marshal who is listed in the rolls. (This is on line for you to see). This is a Obsolete badge and cannot be confused with any modern day badge of its type and has no powers that be.
