3 Day Auction. No Reserve. This beautiful cream colored vintage flatware chest/box has the original label on the inside that says Estate Chest of Distinction, The Marshall-White Co., Chicago. It is also marked on the bottom of the box Pat. App. For Marshall-White Co. Chicago. The box measures almost 18" long x 12" x 3 3/4" deep. It is made of heavy plastic. It has a raised design of leaves around the edge and a floral and leave design in the center. The inside of the box is lined with cloth to prevent tarnish on the flatware. It is made to hold service for 12. This is a really nice looking chest. I purchased it at an estate sale and several people commented on how nice it is as I carried it around. The chest is in nice condition except for the feet on the bottom. Please see the picture which shows the bottom. The chest sits on the curved pieces of plastic that go around the corners. 3 of them have ends that have broken off. The close up is of the one with the most damage. This is not something that shows unless you are looking for it. I didn't notice until I was cleaning the box. When the box is upright it sits level and the little feet are not noticeable.
