This is a 7 day auction, with no "Buy It Now" price. The auction will NOT be ended early. Offered here is an original vintage toy HESS truck, made in the sixties. It comes with the original box, instructions, hose and red plastic funnel. I believe that this is one of the earliest, perhaps even the FIRST toy truck that the Hess company offered. The underside of the cab is marked: "MARX TOYS...MADE IN HONG KONG." The box reads; "Miniature Lighted TANK TRAILER...HESS - AMERICA'S FASTEST GROWING OIL COMPANY...MADE IN THE BRITISH CROWN COLONY OF HONG KONG." It has a compartment for a single "D" cell battery, to work the head & tail lights. This example is very nice, but DOES have a couple of minor "issues," so please read the description carefully and look closely at the pictures. The headlights WORK but the TAIL LIGHTS DO NOT COME ON. (It may need a new bulb or have a loose wire - I REALLY DON'T KNOW.) Includes the original rubber hose and plastic nozzle. There SHOULD be a small plastic part, on TOP of the truck, to connect the hose, but THIS PART IS BROKEN OFF AND MISSING. The rubber hose is a bit stiff, and has a small chip on one end. I don't see anything else broken. The various decals have some small rubs and have yellowed with age. The decal on the BACK of the tanker is wrinkled and starting to loosen, around the edges.
