For your consideration today is this vintage, battery operated Marx Toy Company Big Bruiser Super Highway Service tow truck that remains in excellent plus overall condition, with a working motor, flashing red light and working hoist! NOTE: Due to changes in eBay buying policies, we now only accept Paypal as the method of payment! Shipping will be charged at exact cost only, no bogus packing fee's, and we do sell world wide, email for quotes! Insurance is REQUIRED , but is sold at cost!! This is a pretty special toy that features a wonderful looking main body and accessories that have remained in such clean shape for all these years! Again, be sure to read all of the info as t are a lot of neat things to chat about!! T are so many areas that are in great shape and almost look like new, just a lot of extra nice parts that have no cracks or damage to the structure and still has the factory decals on the front and sides. The motor is in pretty good running order with one option not being able to get going, but forward and the hoist are still working, and the only main flaw or damaged part on this truck is the battery box area as t must have been an old battery that leaked as the outside metal by the cover has corroded, but was contained to one area only, t is surface roughness along the one side, but has only damaged a very small area of the metal that is nothing big, and one contact part was also replaced. T are so many fine features about this cool looking truck, t were probably a few tools that came with it but they are gone, tby the truck is sold as you see it since we know t are at least some small parts missing. The truck measures 22.25" long overall, then is almost 8.75" wide and stands about 12" tall at the top of the hoist, then 8.25" tall to the top of the cab area. The red light cover remains in fine shape, the light takes a few minutes to light up, then stays lit, then will start blinking after a bit. This toy is run on four D sized batteries, and I do have to say that they need to be very strong ones to make this toy run better. Also hard to gurantee that the light bulb will stay intact after shipping, but they most likely can be replaced yet. The motor will run well in forward gear as the truck crawls along well on a hard, flat surface, but could not get it to run in reverse so might be some contact or other problem that needs some TLC. T is a push/pull switch for the light that is in fine shape, t is metal lever for the action of the hoist, with the hoist lever all the way back, then you hit the forward motor lever which then brings up the hook and string very nicely. If you switch into another sort too fast, it seems like you can grind the gears, so you have to shut the power down when switching back and forth. T was no reverse action for the hoist, just released the pull on it so that it could be stretched back out. I do not know if t was a reverse with motor action or not, but am just telling you what works and does not. Whatever the need, it still goes in forward nice and lifts up a slightly heavy toy pretty well. The hoist and all the supports are in such great shape, just a real nice unit, the tool box and doors are all in real nice shape, the string for the hoist is still nice, the interior of the truck is very nice with a steering wheel that actually can turn the front wheels to change directions, the mirror on each side is in great shape, the wipers are both fine, the decals that are on the truck remain in pretty nice sh... read more
