RARE Vintage Circa 1890's Masonic Knights Templar Commanders Sword & Sheath

Made by Henderson-Ames Co. Kalamazoo, Mich.

Gold-washed finish-Schrimshawed Genuine Ivory Handles-Enamaling-Excellent Condition

Offered for your consideration is an extremely rare Masonic Knights Templar Sword in Fantastic condition. This sword belonged to a Commander or Past Commander as the sheath, cross guard, and pommel are Gold-washed. It is a very rare occasion for one of these swords to turn up, as they were were only owned by someone who reached the pinnacle of York Rite Masonry. The sword is in wonderful condition for its age and very detailed. All the fittings are nice and tight, sheath is in very good condition, genuine ivory handles show some slight chipping towards the bottom edge, otherwise no cracks or hairlines which is very common with ivory. Ivory has taken on a very nice yellow colored patina which is typical and schrimshaws on both sides are very clear with very little wear. The blade is in great condition, etchings are clear, tip is still nice and pointed, t is some slight discoloration to the lower part of the blade, probably from being sheathed. The name on the sheath and blade is F.H. De Cou. Crossguard features a likeness of "Richard The Lionhearted". Sword measures 35 5/8" total length, blade is 28 3/8" long which is shorted than the typical Knights Templar sword since this one is an officers or Commanders Sword. Overall just a fantastic York Rite Knights Templar Sword in fantastic shape considering its age made by a very famous and and well known maker. Henderson-Ames fraternal swords are known for this quailty and detail. Would make a Rare and wonderful addition to any collection but is deserving of an Honored place in your Masonic Collection. Don't let this one get away, they are hard to come by!!! Good Luck and Many Thanks!!!!!
