This auction is for a VINTAGE & RARE DATED 5-10-55 MASTERCRAFTERS FIREPLACE MOTION CLOCK MODEL 272. On the clock dial it is marked MASTERCRAFTERS ,MADE IN USA . On the back it has the original label which is marked MASTERCRAFTERS CLOCK AND RADIO COMPANY, FIREPLACE, MODEL 272, 216 NORTH CLINTON ST., CHICAGO 6 ILL, PATENT 2.708.114. It also has a small UL marked on the label . It does have the model 11 type mastercrafters motor, which is a session type motor. The clock in my opinion is in near mint condition for the age of the item. Everything looks in very nice shiney condition except for a very small area on the clock rim has a little tarnish that I didn't want to try and clean it off and some scratch marks around the nuts in back of the clock. The clock dial is gold in color and it has a glass lens over the dial, both are in very nice condition.This clock is extremely hard to find in the condition this one is in, as you can see from the pictures. It has the two andirons intact, log and the fence. Most of these clocks are missing the fence or andirons or both and what's even rarer is this one is made by MASTERCRAFTERS CLOCK & RADIO COMPANY & " DATED 5-10-55!"
