Vintage Menu Wrigley Building Restaurant Chicago 1960's
This vintage menu is dated Tuesday, 1-26-60. The cover of this menu features a clean, retro illustration of the Wrigley Building, a gorgeous Chicago landmark building on Michigan Avenue. This menu is like a booklet with a string tie holding the menu insert into the decorative cover. T is also a bonus menu (insert) dated Monday, 6-18-62 included with this menu. The center of this menu has, printed in red, a large #1 for Heart Disease (Heart Disease #1 Enemy, Give 1, Heart Fund #1 Defense). The left side of the menu offers Dinner A la Carte with: Appetizers (Kraut for 40 cents); Soups; Fish (Grilled fresh lake Superior jumbo Whitefish, $3.25); Poultry (Breast of chicken, Wrigley, $2.50); Sandwiches (club, $1.35); Savories (Welsh Rarebit, $1.40); Vegetables; Desserts; Beverages. The right side of the menu offers Complete Dinners: Broiled Maine Lobster (whole), $4.50 and Special Selections: Broiled lamb chops, mint jelly, $3.25. The center of the menu has drinks: Gold Seal, Brut $6.00/bottle; Pinot Noir Burgundy, Louis Martini, $2.75/bottle. The back of the menu has a map showing the restaurant, w you could park for free during dinner, and also references the now gone Sun Times Building. Also included is a bonus menu insert dated Monday, 6-18-62 which has been folded and placed inside this menu. T are more drinks to choose from, and some differences in the food choices, but many things remained the same, including many of the prices. This bonus insert has been folded vertically and has been written on, in ink, "Wrigley Building Restaurant" and they underlined Wrigley Building Restaurant on the inside of the menu. Menu measures 12 1/4 inches x 9 inches. Menu has some some minor markings on the cover and back, some crinkles on the spine and back, and some wear on the corners --tassle on tie is a bit frayed--but overall great condition for age. Please see photos for details and email me with any questions. Buyer pays all shipping fees. Thanks! A note on shipping: I use priority mail to ship all my menus, this method is safe and fast. I also pack each menu very well using cardboard mailers and/or cardboard backers. Your purchase will arrive safely and quickly.
