For the collector of Hammered Aluminum Cookware this rare set was found at a recent estate sale. Condition is near perfect with no chips or cracks however they do need a good cleaning. Made by Metrolite Health ware they very much remind me of Wagner Ware. The set consists of two, 2 handled bowls marked on bottom " METROLITE HEALTH WARE, PATENTED, NOT SOLD IN STORES, STYLE 1942 ". Bowls measure 8" in diameter not including handles & are 4" deep. The lids are quite unique as they have a dial with needle that reads " VENT, COOK, ROAST, BAKE METROLITE UTENSILS, PATENTED ". Also included is a carrying case with handle measuring approximately 10" tall that is marked " METROLITE HEALTH WARE, PATENTED, NOT SOLD IN STORES, STYLE 1939 ". In all my years of buying & selling I have never seen this brand before. I think it is probably sold door to door in the 1940's. A truly rare find that would look great in any collection.
