VINTAGE MEXICAN AZTEC INSTRUMENT - A TEPONAZTLI C. 1920 / 1930VINTAGE MEXICAN FOLK ART - CARVED WOODEN AZTEC INSTRUMENT "TEPONAZTLI" - 2-TONE DRUM 20" X 7" X 7" THIS IS A 2-TONE SLIT DRUM, CARVED IN THE SHAPE OF A "DEVIL DOG" OR A "CHUPACABRA" GOAT SUCKER. IT IS A RARE CONVERSATION PIECE OF MEXICAN FOLK ART. THIS DRUM WAS PLAYED BY STRIKING THE 2 TOP SLITS WITH A WOOD MALLET. IT IS ESTIMATED THAT HIS WAS CARVED IN THE 1920'S OR 1930'S.
