~Vintage Mexican Jewelry Collectors~ A beautiful example of the artistry that has made vintage Mexican jewelry so sought after~This two-piece pin is truly wearable art ...an Arabic scimitar , or sword, with beautiful beaded detail and a 3/4" amethyst hilt ~and a scabbard worthy of this beautiful sword: r epousse floral accents , two small amethysts , and raised beadwork run down its length ~JUST stunning ! The respousse and detail work are just lovely. How do they do it?? OLD and SIMPLE hallmark: Mexico Silver wrapped around a "sun" marking in the center. An OLD one~Pre-eagle~Probably 1930's or 40's. Sword is 2 3/4" in length~scabbard is 2"~when worn with sword sheathed, the full length of the pin is a whopping 3 1/4" Both pieces have separate pinbacks and old "C" type clasp~also a safety chain to connect the two. Great patina~Excellent condition!! No dings or dents...A REAL BEAUTY....and it can be yours! Take it home and reap the compliments you'll get when wearing an exceptional piece like this!! I've collected vintage jewelry for many years, but I don't claim to be an expert. Remember these items are 50-60 years old, so expect them to have the patina that comes with age. Please keep that in mind as you bid.
