This whimsical romantic “Angel Bracelet” is well known to collectors of Mexican Silver. This is one of her most famous motif, the shadow box angel. This is recognized by her hallmark signature “VICTORIA” Taxco Mexico Eagle 12 Sterling. #53 ( inventory number). Most of the silver content from this workshop is 980. You will find these hallmarks in Billie Hougart’s “ Little Book of Mexican Silver Trade and Hallmarks ” 2006 edition on pages 28-30 with photos. This bracelet would have been made between 1948 and 1958. For other information see the superb book “ Mexican Silver ” by Penny Morrill and Carole Berk. The career of Ana Mario Nunez Brilanati is documented on pages 119 -127. This artist designer was so concerned about the quality of the work produced in her Taller (work shop) that if any work did not satisfy her she had the piece smashed by a hammer. Many of her pieces eventually find their way into the hands of knowledgeable collectors who have learned these valuable pieces are fast disappearing. Six links are each separated by 3 silver repousse demi-spheres, all in excellent vintage condition. Rectangular links connect in the back.
