Up for auction is a pair of earrings for pierced ears. These are vintage Taxco pieces with their original push backs. Based on the marking: MEXICO TM-96 925 and their styling they are from the early 80's. They are post style, large ovals with rounded fronts and flat backs measuring 1 1/16" wide (side to side) x 1 3/4" long (top to bottom) x 3/16" thick. They are solid sterling (over 1/2oz) with a combined weight of 18.6g prior to packing and you will know if one is missing in action :)! I am selling this pair (and 2 other similar ones) for a local dealer who handles only older items...he purchased a 'lot' of jewelry and these were in it. He asked if I would put them up on eBay -- so they are. I will say that I have noticed that many women, younger than myself ;) are wearing large sized earrings with their cute low-cut tops belted over their jeans and I don't know if this style of dress is just on the West Coast or all over but these earrings will fit the bill and I will add, that they are nice quality and won't be confused with the 'imported' crap (sorry) that is available at the local, mall if you follow me :). Anyway I am pleased to be able to offer this nice find for some young stylish and savvy eBayer who is looking for this type of jewelry. Please refer to photos for your take on design and condition.
