About mid 1930s Troxel men's regular size bicycle seat. NOS (New Old Stock). Made in USA by Troxel manufacturing Co., Elyria, Ohio. Never on a bike. Size about 12-inches long by 9-1/2 inches wide. Top and bottom of seat covered with an artificial leather material; brown on the top, black on the bottom side. Embossed in material on both sides near the front "TROXEL" Used on many major-brand bicycles of the era. Very similar to the No. 5 bucket style shown in the 1936 American Bicyclist magazine; see picture. A deluxe model with a double wire supporting truss. Zinc-plated seat post clamp is not original, however should work OK on a straight post, and would look better painted black. At perhaps 75 years of storage and aging have taken some toll with the covering material a little checked, and the stitching separated a bit in one spot towards the front. Truss support wires disconnected and springs folded down somewhat for low-cost flat rate shipping. Shipping Priority Mail USA $7.85; Canada and foreign extra. Payment USA buyers PayPal, or money order. Foreign buyers PayPal only and recommend shipping quote before bidding.
