Vintage MidCentury Blond Woman STRAPLESS Ruffled Gown c.1957 Hollywood Regency Description Here is a beautiful vintage portrait, oil on Masonite board...framed in an ornate Hollywood Regency French style frame. The painting alone measures 20 x 24 ins.WITH the large HEAVY frame , it measures 27 x 31 ins. aqpprox.( a shy tad less of each inch). It is signed to the bttom left, Harriett St. John '57. I think that is the signature. The painting itself is in good condition, almost looks similar to the Chinese realism paintings( common from he 1940-60's time frame), that look like photographs , at first. But after much inspection, it is an American oil painting, and not produced by an Asian artist. It is housed in a very ornate French style picture frame with gesso roses, gold and beige. And incredibly HEAVY! Frame alone must weigh 15-17 pounds. The frame is in fair/good condition with some chips to gesso, here and there, mainly on the back and sides. I would consider it in good condition personally. She has that young, sweet angelic powder puff look about her. No jewelry, just her own beauty and her swirling ruffly white gown...plus red lipstick. Oh! forgot to mention this came from an Atlanta , Georgia estate..so a true blue Southern Belle. A truly wonderful 1950's portrait for Mid-Century, Modern, 1950's, Hollywood Regency, Glam, read more
