Vintage/MIJ/Japanese Mandola/Mandolin

Hi. Thanks for taking the time to view my listing. I can tell you what I know, and will answer any questions to the best of my ability; but I'll admit that I don't know all that much so any info would be welcome.

I bought this about five years ago for much more than the starting bid as it was still to me a very good price for such a well made, beautiful vintage piece; but I'm no mandolin player! It does sound glorious, but I don't do it justice and I would like it to go to someone who could.

"The mandola (US and Canada) or tenor mandola (Ireland, and UK) is a fretted, stringed musical instrument . It is to the mandolin what the viola is to the violin: the four double courses of strings tuned in fifths to the same pitches as the viola (C-G-D-A low-to-high), a fifth lower than a mandolin . However, the mandola, although now rarer, is the ancestor of the mandolin, the name of which means simply "little mandola"." -Thanks to Wikipedia for the info!!

This has an age to it that I'm sure, and the quality is very nice indeed. I am not entirely sure what it is made from in terms of wood, but I do know quality when I see it.
