Mike Hynsen and Robert August were the featured surfers in the film: "Endless Summer" Vintage 10' 5" Mike Hynsen model Gordon & Smith 3 stringer, red fin surfboard out of the Dana Point G & S shop in the Spring of 1966. That year, my family rented a place across PCH from G & S and next door to Hobie where they were putting together a contraption they called a sailboard as well as a prototype Hobie Cat. My bedroom window looked right into the G & S showroom that year I turned 16. I had been riding Doheny with an aging Dewey Weber and couldn't sleep until I ordered this. I took the $166 I had saved for a car and spent it on this board instead. Six months later, I bought a 6 cylinder '56 Chevy for sixty dollars less than the board cost. It used aquart of oil every 60miles. I was still riding this at Steamers (Santa Cruz) in the 90's when I moved to Kauai and warmer waters. This board was
