This drill is marked on the crank handle and reads 'Millers Falls Co. - (Star logo) No. 2 - Millers Falls Mass. - USA". This drill features a 4" main gear painted red, that is driven by a single pinion and held with a ball thrust bearing and spindle.. The frame is malleable iron painted black, There are 2 oil ports for gear maintenance. The head and crank handles are rosewood and have no splits or cracks. The head has a screw off cap for bit storage. (No bits with this piece) The removable side handle is a hardwood chef's cap style, but was added later. The handles all have brass ferrules, and all are in good shape. The chuck on the drill is a McCoy's springless chuck, adjustable from 0-17/64". It works perfectly in both directions.
