Vintage Mine Cut Diamond Solitiare 14K Yellow Gold Chain Necklace Diamond is approximately 1/3 ctw Hi, welcome and thank you for veiwing our auction ! Description We have a diamond solitaire pendant and chain. The chain is a small, fine, chain, in 14K yellow gold. The diamond is a round cut, with the flat culet, meaning, the bottom of the diamond does not come to a distinct point. I believe these diamonds are called mine cut. The diamond has been tested and is an authentic diamond. The diamond measures a little over 4mm across, estimating the carat weight to be about 1/3 carat, or .33 ctw. It is set in small basket, with 6 prongs, and the bale is what I believe is called rabbit ears ? It is like a split bale. The chain measures 16 inches, and fastens with a spring ring clasp. The chain and the clasp are both stamped / marked 14K. The diamond in this pendant is brilliantly clear, with no carbon or feathering that I can see with a 10x loupe. The color is very colorless, no hint of yellow or grey. I am not a jeweler or gemologist, but in my opinion, I believe it is a very high quality diamond.
