Vintage Mineola Hotel 4 dinner forks Rogers Bros. A1 's a set of four dinner forks made by the Rogers Bros. Company and marked as A1... sorry, don't know exactly what that means, though likely has to do with the style. I bought these at an estate sale recently near my home and automatically assumed that they related to Mineola New York. A tidbit on Wikipedia, which is not always THE single most reliable source of information reveals that the Mineola Hotel was burned by an arsonist in 1966. These aren't in perfect shape with slightly bent tines and rubbing on the bottom, particularly on one of the four. They show no evidence of having been in a fire though. While poking around I learned that t's also a Mineola Hotel in Illinois and one in Texas, so these could just as easily be from one of those two places. I'm confident that all of those places have plenty of forks (and spoons and knives for that matter). Maybe this is just how I think at this particular time of year, but these seem to me to be an ideal present to someone living in some Mineola or other who has a tendency to have houseguests often. Maybe that's you, or maybe that's someone else on your gift list. They are guaranteed to get the message across. These measure 7.25 inches and a little polishing will make 'em look great.
