This is a very collectible modern art pottery piece made at the pottery studio of Lee and Sam Rosen of New York City and Stroudsbourg, Pennsylvania. These pieces were made primarily for their studio and store in Greenwich Village. The Rosen's designed many pieces themselves and brought in other noted artists, primarily from Alfred University School of Ceramic Art and Design. They produced pieces of this type primarily from about 1947 to the mid-1960's when the emphasis became more focused on designer lamps and tiles. This is a splendid example of mid-century American modern ceramic art. Please do not hesitate with any questions. !
